Direct Zinc oxide, white hexagonal crystalline or powder. Odorless, non-toxic, and fine in texture. Relative density 5.606. Refractive index 2.008-2.029. Melting point 1975℃.
Direct Zinc oxide has a strong fluxing effect in glazes, which can reduce the expansion coefficient of the glaze, improve the thermal stability of the product, and increase the gloss and whiteness of the glaze, enhancing its elasticity. It can also increase the brilliance of the glaze color while expanding the melting range. However, it is not suitable for use in black glazes containing chromium.
